Nature's Whisper

Morning dew covers the emerald grass
encased in an ivory, opaque shroud;
the smell of air cleansed by rain,
from showers the night before.

Animals welcome the coming of dawn
with chatter in the trees and on the ground.
House lights bloom like flowers
out of the night's shadows,
ignoring nature's whisper.

From cozy beds, Man wakes up
to alarms that he must pound;
shower, shave, gathering clothes,
repeated with infinite boredom.

Engines warm up,
time for the morning commute,
deafening in its revving sound;
Man's machines command attention,
drowning nature's whisper.
