In Plain View

I stare out my driver-side window,
captivated by nature’s beauty.
Treetops blanket rolling hills
surrounding emerald valleys.

Gazing to my left,
the sky and hillsides touch
in a landscape union,
of azure and wispy, white clouds.

In my travels,
I failed to notice this scene before.
Perhaps I was too blind to see
beyond the trees.

As the view fades in my rear,
I reflect on what I have seen.
How little time out we take
to enjoy everyday miracles.
