Ripples

The breeze kisses my face
while I walk along the water’s edge.
Ripples flow over the surface;
touching the shore in all directions.
I stare into my reflection,
my mind recalls the moment.

Surrounded, yet alone,
despair would laugh at me.
Happiness was a stranger
in days without light.
Guilt guided me into darkness
I thought no one would answer.

Like a splashing rock,
His light broke through the clouds.
His blood showed me the path
I share now with others.
How much happier life is,
now that Jesus’ love flows through my heart.
